What is a SPEEDY DRAIN PROS Sewer Camera inspection?

A SPEEDY DRAIN PROS sewer camera inspection is a process that inspects a property’s drain and sewer line using specially built waterproof video camera snakes.  Video camera heads are connected to a flexible cable that are inserted into drains or main sewer lines. The camera and cable are connected to a high resolution video monitor. The camera is pushed through a drain or sewer to complete a visual inspection. Most sewer camera systems can also record the video inspection as well as show the location of the drain or sewer in a wall or underground.

The Sewer Camera Inspection process

Speedy-Drain-Pros-Camera-Inspection-1

A SPEEDY DRAIN PROS tech feeds a video camera into a drain or sewer pipe through an open drain, cleanout or vent and then run through the length of the line. Then the SPEEDY DRAIN PROS technician watches on a monitor at ground level to see what’s going on in your pipes. Throughout this process, the sewer line is inspected for potential issues such as cracks, leaks, breaks & blockages. We can also video record the inspection for future reference. Aside from being non-invasive, accurate, and cost-efficient, video inspections could mean the difference between lots of time and expense wasted and getting a clear read on the problem with the “best case” advisement given as to how to solve it.

Most common problems a Video Pipe Inspection can identify

TREE ROOT

These are most common with old pipes made out of clay, cast iron, or other porous materials. Tree roots seek out water sources as they grow and if they find a crack in your sewer pipe, they’ll grow into it to get to the water inside.

BROKE, CRACKED or COLLAPSED PIPE

Since the camera feeds along the pipe itself, the SPEEDY DRAIN PROS technician will be able to tell if the pipe has collapsed, shifted, or become damaged.

MAJOR BLOCKAGES

Sometimes your pipes are in perfect condition, but years of sending things down the pipes that should go in the trash can has casuse a buildup of grease, paper, and other gunk.

BELLIED OR SAGGING PIPES

When a section of the sewer pipe begins to sag, waste gets caught in the bellied section – resulting in repeat bloackage.

Line Locating Service

SPEEDY DRAIN PROS uses modern tools and technology to give accurate locations and depths of interior or exterior sewers, drains and water and Gas lines. Line locating is generally required when sewer or water main repairs are required or for remodeling or excavation project. Line location is also especially helpful in location sewer cleanout and city sewer connections.

Locating is accomplished when a transistor placed in sewer camera heads or transmitters on sewer cables that omit a high frequency signals that are traced by a handheld receiver which narrows the search to an exact location and depth. Most locations are within a few inches.
